Crayfish bonanza for Bunbury fishers in Western Australia ahead of ‘white run’

When you see the size of the crayfish these blokes are catching, it’s a wonder they didn’t sink their boat on the way back.

A group of divers fishing off Bunbury have posted video footage of them plucking enormous western rock lobsters from the sea bed – some so big they barely fit inside their catch bags.

Diving at a secret spot they call ‘The Coliseum,’ Gary C and his mates can be seen swimming close to a stretch of reef where scores of large crayfish peer out, their huge claws, antennas and tails a tempting target.

The divers seek out the biggest ones they can find and sweep them into bags – a great catch for their efforts.
